President William Ruto is expected to visit Kisii and Nyamira counties for a three-day development tour scheduled to take place from Monday, November 9, to Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro announced the planned visit on Monday, November 2, saying the President would tour the Gusii region to launch and inspect several development projects.

In a statement shared online, Osoro said preparations were underway and promised to release the full programme once it was complete.

“H.E. Dr William Samoei Ruto will be in Gusii nation for a series of developmental projects from Monday, 9th Nov to 11th Nov 2026,” Osoro stated.

The MP added that residents should expect major announcements during the presidential visit, although he did not provide details of what the announcements would involve.

“Major announcements will also be made during this visit. Expect surprises. See you next to your home next week,” he added.

Roads Among Projects Expected to Be Launched

According to Osoro, the President is expected to launch the Sengenya-Openda-Karungu-Kiagware Road and the Nyakeyo-Nyamasege-Nyakorere-Moma roads.

Both projects are located in South Mugirango Constituency, where Osoro serves as the area MP.

The planned road launches are expected to form part of the wider development programme covering Kisii and Nyamira counties. However, the complete itinerary had not been released by the time of the announcement.

The visit will give the Head of State an opportunity to inspect ongoing projects and launch new initiatives in the two counties.

Ruto Recently Completed Ukambani Development Tour

The planned Gusii visit comes shortly after President Ruto completed a three-day development tour of the Ukambani region between October 24 and October 26, 2026.

During that tour, he visited several constituencies in Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties.

The programme included infrastructure development, affordable housing, education facilities, healthcare services, electricity connections and the issuance of title deeds to residents.

Ruto began the tour in Mwala, Machakos County, before travelling to Mbooni and Kaiti in Makueni County. He also visited Masinga and Yatta in Machakos.

On the final day, the President toured Tseikuru in Mwingi North, Kitui County, where he inspected an affordable housing project and launched the Twimia-Tseikuru-Usweni Road.

He later visited Mwingi Central and Kitui West constituencies before proceeding to Kibwezi East in Makueni County.
